Nice idea, very convenient, but pods do not seem to have the same strength and body as ground coffee that's measured out. They certainly don't have the same quality as freshly ground beans. The service, OTOH,was fine. Order came promptly and package was in good condition.

Having a one-cup coffee maker is the best coffee I have found, and you don't have to stand in line.

You have a choice of 4 or 8 ounce dispensing of water through the pods, and strong or regular coffee comes out smelling so wonderful, and tasting as good.

I have been using Senseo for years and I love it. I saw that they came out with these new Espresso pods and thought, "Why not? The darker the better." So...I ordered them and I have thoroughly enjoyed them. Actually, even as I write this review I am drinking a cup using one of the pods. Of course it's not toally like a "real" espresso, but it's strong, bold, and makes me think twice about stopping at a coffe place rather than just coming home to make my own.

These were the first E.S.E pods that I had purchased for my Krups espresso machine. I had never tried them, but I trusted the Starbucks named based on their reputation for great coffee. Once I received them, I didn't hesitate to test them in my machine! I was not disappointed. The flavor was great and the crema was perfect. I used these for espresso alone, lattes (plain and vanilla), and caramel macchiato (both hot and iced). I was highly satisfied with the outcome every time. Needless to say, I used these up quickly and needed more. Regrettably, I opted for another brand that was a slightly better value for the price. The other brand, which I am drinking at the moment, does not nearly live up to the standard of these Starbucks pods. The espresso is hit or miss. Sometimes it comes out as yellow water into the cup, even though I put the pod in the exact same way each time. I never had this problem with the Starbucks pods. They appear to be the same size. The flavor is weak and just wasn't what I was looking for after using the Starbucks brand. Unfortunately, I still have a box and a half to get through before I have to re-purchase. I will most definitely be purchasing these the next time around.

I switched to these pods from another brand, and can't believe what I'd been missing! Note, I am not a coffee connoisseur, but I can tell a big difference. It makes a darker, creamier, non-bitter espresso, and you can't beat the convenience of pods. Also, they are packed individually so they are always fresh. Definitely recommend.

I always use a melitta cup for making any espresso coffee and this one is just delicious. I checked my ph strip and it does not register as acid. It doesn't bother my stomach at all and I am super sensitive to anything acid. American coffee I have a hard time tolerating; the Italian and Kenya coffees that are dark roast espresso are thought by some people via their processing techniques and quality to be alkaline. It makes the American coffee look like junk for how the body responds and the taste. Once you have had this coffee you won't want American coffee anymore as it is not bitter.

In case anyone is wondering what a melitta cup is, it is a cone made from plastic or ceramic (mine is ceramic) and it has a hole at the bottom. I adjust the coffee filter to fit it and then put the espress coffee in it and then pour my hot water from the tea kettle into it. I add a little nut milk into the coffee and I am ready to enjoy a wonderful taste. It beats dealing with a coffee maker any day. Each person in the family can have their own melitta cup as it is so quick to do.

All of Lavazza's coffees that I've tried are excellent. I use espresso - as you can see by the label - the way I would ordinary coffee in my drip coffee maker. Lavazza espresso yields a strong yet never bitter brew. There non-espresso grinds also are excellent. You absolutely can't go wrong with Lavazza.

I received my order of four (4) packs of this coffee yesterday and today, upon opening the bricks that were shrink-wrapped together, I noticed that one of the individual packages was clearly not vacuum sealed. Sure enough, at the bottom of the package, I could see a slice from what was most likely a straight razor used to open a box. Hmm...out with that package. (I should add that the shipping box was was in perfect condition.)

Understandably, this type of thing can happen with packaging / stocking. Still, I'm a little disappointed that on my first order, only 3 out of 4 packages are any good.

We just got this yesterday and had some this morning. It is probably one of the best coffees I have ever tasted! It is perfectly balanced with a nice round taste and feel that is full bodied. No acidity at all, just creamy goodness. There is a wonderful taste nuance involved that is characteristic of a fine wine. I can not believe the price for this! I spent for 2 pounds less than what I have paid for 1 pound of other coffees and enjoyed this every bit as much or more. A definite keeper for my morning java.

I brew this fantastic blend with my Senseo using the "coffee duck". It's great because I can use whatever coffee I want. This coffee is amazing and my mornings would be lost without it! My Italian cousin-in-law recently taught me how to make real authentic Italian espresso and cappuccino and Lavazza is her first choice over all other brands. It is so rich and smooth and I have to agree after we ran out of Lavazza and went hunting unsuccessfully for more and ended up buying two other brands. No comparison as there was such a difference in taste. I threw out the other two cans and went hunting on the internet that night and found it the cheapest on Amazon (my favorite place to shop on the Internet). Anyway, signed up for the subscription service and LOVE it. Just about when I was on my last can of Lavazza, here comes an e-mail notifying me that Amazon was about to make another shipment. Perfect timing. Love, love, love this service. By the way, my husband is a die-hard Starbucks fan (very strong coffee) and likes his best as a blend of Lavazza and Starbucks.

"Strange Taste" 2010-04-04

I really hoped I would like this espresso, the main reason being that I just can't take the financial assault that Illy Medium Roast puts on my monthly budget. With that being said, I found this to have a cardboard-like, slightly bitter taste. I was hoping to reproduce the rich, nutty taste that I get from a pull of Illy. Perhaps there is another Lavazza product which will fare better. I use a Saeco Classico, so if anyone has some advice, I am open to it.
